During the use of stretch film, static electricity may sometimes occur. In fact, static electricity is not a serious problem, but it can be very dangerous. 1. Static electricity generated during production

Due to the friction between the granules, the friction between the melt and the mold head, and the friction between the film forming and winding process and the guide roller, static electricity is generated at the factory. So, anti-static agents should be added during the production process of stretch film to eliminate this static electricity. It should be said that this effect is still very good. Antistatic agents are surfactants that contain polar hydrophilic groups and non-polar lipophilic groups in their molecules. Hydrophilic groups have compatibility with plastics. Hydrophilic groups can ionize or adsorb moisture from the air, forming a thin conductive layer on their surface to leak charges and eliminate static electricity.

2. Static electricity generated during printing, lamination, slitting, and bag making processes

Due to the friction between the stretching film and the guide roller, as well as the friction between the high-speed running film and dry air, static electricity is generated. The static electricity in this part has a significant impact on production, and if it cannot be effectively eliminated, it will also have a significant impact on the post-processing procedures. Generally speaking, using a superconducting electrostatic brush (contact elimination) is more effective. It solves this problem by grounding the generated static electricity through a brush with low resistance (1m width resistance less than 1) in the form of a contact film. Alternatively, an ion generator can be used to blow the generated ions onto the membrane in the form of wind (non-contact). However, in practical operation, while eliminating the static electricity carried by the ionized gas, it will also be found that it carries some of the air ions into the winding during operation.

3. Static electricity generated by finished films on automatic packaging machines

The friction between the finished film and the equipment guide roller, as well as the static electricity that has not been eliminated by the stretching film itself, are the reasons. The above methods can also be used to eliminate static electricity in situations where automatic packaging is difficult and the required contents are sensitive to static electricity. An effective method is also to use a superconducting electrostatic brush to eliminate it.
